The Genhappy Story

Two Best Friends, One Big Idea
& a Whole Lot of Happy

How a girls' trip to the beach turned into a feel-good fashion brand that's changing the way women get dressed.

Meet EJ & Mary

It started the way the best ideas do — on vacation. EJ and Mary met thirty years ago during a semester abroad in London, instantly bonding over travel, family, fashion, and never saying no to a good time.

Fast forward to a girls' trip in 2019. Both were wearing their favorite white blouse — and both had the same realization: why is it so hard to find clothes that feel amazing AND look flattering?

That "aha" moment became Genhappy. Now they're channeling decades of experience in TV production, marketing, and epic multi-tasking into creating artisan-crafted resort wear designed to spark joy every time you get dressed.

Handmade with Heart

Every Genhappy piece starts with a dream and ends with hand-sewn stitches. We assembled an incredible design team with roots at iconic resort-wear brands, paired with a family-owned production partner in India that's worked with the biggest names in fashion.

The result? Effortless, artisan-embroidered clothing made with natural fibers and an obsessive attention to detail — from delicate sequin accents to hand-tied tassels with shell details. Every stitch carries intention.

Fashion That Gives Back

Genhappy means Generation Happy — and it's not about an age group. It's a mindset. We're a community of doers, dreamers, mothers, and best friends who believe happiness has a ripple effect.

That's why we give a percentage of every sale to Girl Rising, a global organization empowering women and girls through education. When you wear Genhappy, you're not just looking good — you're doing good.

Slow Fashion, Big Love

We believe beautiful clothes shouldn't come at someone else's expense. That's why we produce in small batches, turn fabric remnants into jewelry bags, and source sustainable cotton through the Better Cotton Initiative.

Every person in our supply chain is paid fairly and treated with respect — from the artisans hand-embroidering each garment to the team packing your order with care. Good vibes, all the way down.
